Last month, I was invited out to attend a scout meeting at Big Rockfish Presbyterian Church in Hope Mills, NC. As a landscape contractor, I have a great appreciation for our young men showing an interest in our environment and harnessing the sort of survival skills that remain useful in our changing world.
At this meeting, I spoke with these scouts about my life experiences, what led me into pursuing life as a public official, my time in the military, and my experience in growing a business. It is always encouraging to see young people showing an interest in their future, and taking advantage of the opportunities they have.
