I was recently asked by senate leadership to serve on the North Carolina Military Affairs Commission. I am honored and happy to continue to serve our soldiers and their families in this new role. The committee was established in the past legislative session by SB613. The bill states that the purpose of this committee is to, “provide advice, counsel, and recommendations,” to the state government on initiatives, programs, and legislation that will affect the military and in turn the economic health of the state. A run down on the NCMAC, it’s members and goals, can be found here.
I serve on this commission handling the legislative affairs along with another Senator Harry Brown. There are a lot of specialized and experienced professionals on this board and I look forward to accomplishing a great deal with them.
