Sen. Meredith Makes History – Senate Overrides Veto

acquireUncategorized

The North Carolina General Assembly made history today by voting to override Governor Perdue’s veto of the State Budget, 31-19. Senator Meredith and the rest of the General Assembly worked tirelessly to provide a bipartisan, fiscally responsible, sound budget. Governor Perdue acted recklessly in vetoing it, refusing to cooperate with the Republican Leadership and panning to her liberal base. This budget restores spending to the right level for North Carolina – all while fully funding teachers and teacher’s assistants. This budget is great for North Carolina and will keep us on the track to right-size government.
