GIC Legislator of the Year Award

acquireUncategorized

On January 22nd, I had the honor of attending the Green Industry Council (GIC) Reception and Annual Meeting. At this event, I was awarded the Green Industry Council’s Legislator of the Year award. This prestigious award recognizes the North Carolina Legislator that has been diligent, thoughtful and sincere in advocating for, protecting and promoting small businesses in our state.  The North Carolina GIC represents over 2500 small businesses including nursery stock growers, sod producers, landscape contractors, irrigation contractors, and retail garden centers providing over $8.6 billion in total economic impact to our state’s economy. It was a great event that I enjoyed attending, both as a landscaper and a legislator. I had a good time speaking with various representatives about particular issues. Representative Tim Moffitt, Richard Linton, the Dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at NCSU, and the Commissioner of Agriculture, Steve Troxler also attended this reception.

I would like to thank them both for this award and for hosting this event.
